I am a newbie here: Resources needed for empathy classification
Here's a cleaned-up version of your post:
Hello everyone,
I'm new to Hugging Face and machine learning in general. My background is in biochemistry and bioinformatics, and I'm currently transitioning into data science. I'm interested in learning more about Seq2Seq encoder-decoder models with attention mechanisms, particularly for generating empathic responses based on user input. I've been reading a paper on this topic (https://arxiv.org/pdf/2009.08441) and would appreciate any additional resources or advice you might have. It specifically mentions that they employ a bi-encoder model like RoBERTa. Hence the posting here for advice for more reading material or easy datasets to work with.
Also, I'm eager to gain practical experience in NLP and data analysis. If anyone needs coding assistance with a project, I'm happy to volunteer my time. I'm also available to help with biology-related projects. I'd probably be a little more useful there if you have any ideas you want to get off of the ground. I'm just looking for opportunities to gain more experience.
Thank you!
