A new chapter for roleplaying & storytelling.
TL;DR: NarrowMaid-8B is a merge of over 30 models tuned specifically for roleplaying, storywriting, and similar domains.
It may or may not perform well for causal / assisting usage, but you may fine-tune, modify or simply try out the model for your usecase as long as it complies with the Meta LLaMA3.1 license.
Models used
I used seven models with a weight distribution of 0.14 each (1 / 7 ~= 0.14):
- vicgalle/Humanish-Roleplay-Llama-3.1-8B
- vicgalle/Roleplay-Hermes-3-Llama-3.1-8B
- ArliAI/Llama-3.1-8B-ArliAI-RPMax-v1.2
- Casual-Autopsy/Halu-L3-Stheno-BlackOasis-8B
- mlabonne/NeuralDaredevil-8B-abliterated
- Casual-Autopsy/L3-Super-Nova-RP-8B
- Casual-Autopsy/L3-Deluxe-Scrambled-Eggs-On-Toast-8B
As mentioned above, this model is a merge of over 30 models. Most models above are also carefully merged models, hence over 30, not seven.
Intended usecase
I tested & added models to this merge which followed this criteria:
- Exceptional card following: Will behave like the charcter definition very realistically
- Very good usage of context: Most models were able to recall information from the very beginning of the chat if it was relevant, also leading to enhanced realism
- Similar or same vibe when quantized: I also ran the models using INT4 quants to see if they loose any performance; all models felt exactly the same
Since this is a model for roleplaying, not general use (or at least not intended for, you may try it out yourself), I didn't test it for that.
You can check out my
GenericRP models designed for both strong roleplaying and generical STEM-based assisting.
