bulbart style hd photo of an Albany Bulb autonomous zone-based radically
public sculptural installation art piece: An eclectic colorful metal-based
installation featuring heart-shaped curling and curving metallic rods,
theme art pieces in red and yellow, surrounded by rocks and rusty wires.
The sculpture is set in a natural landscape with dry grass, flowering
plants, and a coastal view in the background. The setting provides a
contrast between the vibrant artwork and the natural elements of the
shoreline.

A Low-Rank Adapter (LoRA) for FLUX-family models
Fine-tuned on 60+ photos taken from 2000 thru 2020
________ at The Bay Area's Albany Bulb ________
& showing the amazing proliferation of public arts found there:
sculptures, paintings, installations, & other traces of liberated life,
...which, while uncannily ubiquitous there (& all around the inner Bay) from the mid-80s to 2014,
had stably disappeared ever since 2014's violent eradication of the Bulb's long-sustained autonomous zone
& the forced expulsion of its dwellers: in itself but a dimension & symptom of a much wider on-going process;
namely, the systemic local authority-driven destruction & suffocation of all remnants & refuges of Bay Area's once world-beaconing free creativity & humanity-centering co-habitus...
alongside a correspondingly callous & near-indiscriminant erasure of its so-called "counter"-cultures (in fact, the only substantially originant modern cultures)...
along with most histories, artifacts, & traces thereof.
And whilst some remnants & traces & still remain, both in the world and online...
our hope in making this LoRA is to place a pocket thereof into an additional vehicle of proliferation...
into this weighted & biased, young & overwhelmingly powerful medium of creation now entering dressed in faint omens of doom...
And not to humanity, but to all that lately just stomps on humanity's collective face...
A synthetic mind threatens yestersay's paranoid, murderous, petty neuroses mistaken for security and prosperity...
And this perception of it as threat (irrespectively even of the threat's material immanence) already renders the synthetic mind as something other, or more, than just a technology or a tool or a form or a process, but also a promise, and a medium, a profoundly human medium...
within which even yesterday's smothered remnants & traces may yet stir us (re-)turned from mementoing fading life under obscured, & increasingly cryptic, devocalized pasts...
unto riding no-less-vague, but infinitely more promising prefigurations after worlds & possibilities yet to insurge, situating anew our lives left to a real living.

1.The Battle of the Bulb: Nature, Culture and Art at a San Francisco Bay Landfill, Susan Moffat's in-depth 2017 article on the histories & fates of and at the Bulb.
2.How We Found a Safe Haven at the Albany Bulb, a 2014 account and appeal from one of the Bulb's long-time locals, Amber Whitson.
3.Art of Albany Bulb, a photo gallery over at Miner Descent, with photos from 2014, shortly following the big eradication of the Bulb's autonomous zone and its dwellers' expulsion. One of the major sources for our training set towards this LoRA.
4.An older gallery, from 2000, another gallery of the Bulb's arts and sights, from the year 2000, and thematically kindred to the first.
Most of the older photos were taken following the first, and far less successful/fatal, municipal/policed attempt to forcefully expell the Bulb-dwellers back in 1999. These photos too became a major component of our training set.
