The Front Desk and Travel Desk staff were very responsive to our needs. We arrived on a very early flight and the staff was able to able to temporarily store our luggage and proceed with check in as soon as it was possible. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent. The Metro from the Airport was clean and efficient. It was not difficult to get a reloadable Metro pass at the Airport Metro Station. Teynampet Metro Station is only 5 min away from the hotel if you don't mind a short walk. From Teynampet it is easy to travel to the Airport and to Chennai Central Station. The Breakfast - Unmatched, wide spread, tasty, cooked for you on the spot with a smile, plenty of choice and fantastic service. I've never looked forward to having breakfast like I did at GRT.

The hotel is located in a prime area with good connectivity 24/7 through ubers/autos.The security staff were always pleasant and gave a customary namaste every time I passed through, luggage was also handled with care. The check in however was very slow and I had to wait for more than 20 minutes due to the lack of staff. I booked this property through booking.com which came with a complimentary breakfast however I had a flight by early morning which would prevent me from enjoying it and hence the reception staff gave me 25% of on the F&B spends, this was such a welcoming gesture.They also offered me a complimentary packed breakfast and a bed coffee just before check out. The food amazed me in both quantity and quality. The hotel exudes old world charm everywhere with a touch of modernity and will not cease to please anyone. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and solo travelers alike to have a peaceful stay even if it's short. Whether you prefer a hearty breakfast or a lighter fare, there was something to satisfy every palate. The freshness and quality of the food were evident, and it was a delightful way to start each day of my stay.","I had made a special request for connecting rooms a month prior to my arrival, but upon check-in, I was informed that this request could not be fulfilled. Instead, I was given two separate rooms that were not even located side by side. This was a significant inconvenience, especially since I had specifically requested connecting rooms to make our stay more convenient.

Another aspect that fell short of my expectations was the hotel's bar ambience. It simply did not meet the standards I would expect from a star hotel. The atmosphere lacked the sophistication and charm that one typically associates with upscale establishments. It was disappointing to find that the bar did not provide the ambiance I was looking for when seeking a relaxing evening out.

Additionally, I was disheartened by the cost of the buffet dinner at the hotel. While I understand that quality comes at a price, the cost of the buffet dinner seemed quite expensive in relation to the overall value offered. The variety and quality of the food served may have been decent, but the price tag made it less appealing, especially when compared to similar options available in the area.

Overall, my experience at GRT Hotel was marked by disappointment. The failure to provide the requested connecting rooms, the lackluster bar ambience, and the high cost of the buffet dinner all contributed to a less-than-satisfactory stay. I had higher expectations for a Star hotel, and it pains me to say that GRT Hotel did not live up to them on this occasion. The rooms were very nice and the bathrooms were extremely clean.  
We enjoyed our stay very much. We all felt as one family and were very well taken care of. 

Also the cleaning team was very good and reliable especially the two guys Senthil & Kandavel and 
the guy Gautama in charge of the cleaning department, was very responsible and always asked us if everything was fine 
and took care of it very well. 

The catering and all around was awesome with friendly staff. Also in the entrance area we were always greeted friendly and had a warm welcome especially Srithar was very helpful in the last moment for the organization of the luggage.

Overall it was excellent there is nothing bad to say!  The Grand Chennai by GRT Hotels was just fabulous!!!

The breakfast are VERY good!On the 4th day “things took a turn”;I was not able to get my room cleaned until about 1 pm even though I had inquired/requested around 9a.m. Had to call front desk to have the 1 pm cleaning in spite of the earlier request. Certain “someone” saw the light on that indicated I wanted it clean as well because an additional morning newspaper was placed there. Trash overflowing, no towels, I needed sleep but kept “waiting”. Felt I was taking care of them rather than other way around. Had a few employees solicit for a “good review”. !?!?Have stayed at GRT hotels in other places in the world and was appalled by the last day at this one.","the rude employee I asked re cleaning my room. Told him, “ when you get a chance”… he sneered and repeated me. Then, never showed up! Evidently “NEVER “ got a chance??Must be on the family plan”(have a connection to higher up in hotel) was my thought.
