The room had barely any space to walk. It was like a match box. No cupboard. On entry was toilet on the right hand side followed by a cramped space where one small table and a chair which I could barely move was kept. It was touching the bed. Absolutely no space to even move a bit around in the room. Holiday Inn is spoiling its brand name by getting into this tiny room hotels and yet charging high. The Air condition at the reception lounge was not working and it was awful in the Chennai heat to be standing there at the reception of what is a world renowned brand. Pathetic is the least I would say. Having budget hotel facilities is OK but customer staying in the hotel should feel pleasant about the room where he is going to spend his next day/s. Look at the budget hotel Fairfield of the Marriott group. Its is far far better than your budget hotel Holiday Inn express. Overall experience left bitter taste in the mouth. Only saving grace was the manager who was quite polite and understood my displeasure and disappointment.
